Low-maintenance bridge technology.
Steel beam bridge sleepers.

In the field of steel bridges, our own development of the steel beam bridge sleeper (SBS) is gaining acceptance to an ever increasing extent by comparison with conventional wooden sleepers. The reason is that wooden sleepers are difficult to install, require a great deal of maintenance and need to be replaced after 15 – 20 years.

In the case of our SBS system, the tracks are bedded elastically with the height-adjustable and laterally adjustable ECF rail fastener system on a steel bearer. This involves securing the steel beam bridge sleeper the bridge girder in such a way as to deflect the horizontal and vertical forces into the bridge girder.

The investment is comparable with that for the use of wooden sleepers, yet the service life of the SBS is approx. 60 to 80 years.
