The next generation.
The new slab track (System NFF).
The conventional form of slab track has a full bedding system. This means relatively high effort and expense for planning, measurement and execution. The new slab track system was developed in order to minimize this. It consists of the rails, including fastener, the longitudinal bearer system LTE, the rigid portal structures made of prefabricated reinforced steel compound units and the deep foundation made of drilled or pressed piles.
This system must be seen as a bridge structure: the loads are dissipated not over the full area via the foundation but via the shell areas of the drilled or injection piles directly into the load-bearing ground strata. This saves on soil exchange, otherwise required, and thus leads to tremendous cost savings.
