According to the Directive RiL 820.2010. The rail fastening W 3 with rail clamp Skl 1 and angular guide plate Wfp 3b is to be installed instead of the previously used rail fastening W 14 k made of concrete sleepers B70 W, B70 W-2.4 and B90. Rail fastening with rail clamp Skl 1 The rail is placed with the elastic intermediate layer on the concrete sleeper. The lateral position of the rail is secured by the angular guide plate Wfp 3. The Wfp is made of steel (with insulating insert) or glass fibre reinforced plastic. They transfer the lateral forces on the concrete body, without claiming the screw to bend and without effecting adversely for the track gauge formation. The resultant of vertical force and screw clamping force is directed obliquely. The angular guide plate and the support in the concrete sleeper are shaped in such a way, so that a tight fit is ensured even with loosened tie screws. The insulating insert between steel angular guide plate and concrete allows a complete attachment and an electrical insulation. The rail clamp Skl 1 is supplied with a permanent rust preventive coating. The non-positive bracing between rails and sleepers is achieved by using the listed parts. High frame rigidity to secure the position of the track. Low maintenance, no rework after installation. No route blocking on suspended sleeper screws (stress equalisation). Captive pre-assembly in the sleeper factory. After installation of the rails, and intermediate layers, the sleeper screw is loosened, the rail clamp is rotated around 180° and the screw tightened with a torque of approx. 200 Nm. The correct mounting poition is to be identified so that the intermediate loop touches the angular guide plate. The clamping force of the spring arm is then approx. 11.5 kN at a deflection of 14.5 mm. There is an air space of about 1.5 mm between rail clamps intermediate loop and rail flange.
